tradesim_scala
A trading simulator in Scala, built to backtest and compare trading strategies against historical data.
Technologies: Scala, PostgreSQL, Backtesting
Testing an idea against history
tradesim_scala is a backtesting tool written in Scala. I built it to test and compare trading strategies.
The project is part of my exploration of market data, simulation, and the tools needed to turn a trading hypothesis into something that can be evaluated against historical inputs.
The supporting infrastructure
The public repository includes instructions for generating Slick table definitions from a PostgreSQL schema and generating implementations from Protocol Buffers definitions.
These pieces support the simulator’s handling of structured data and its representations.
What this project explores
- Historical strategy backtesting.
- Simulation and comparison of trading approaches.
- Scala, relational data, and generated data models.
